Joy Butler
Joy Butler studied writing through correspondence and online courses and brings to her Suite101 position, twenty years of experience in rescuing, kenneling, training, and showing dogs in various capacities.
She has published many articles both online and in print and has written for Suite101.com since 2001. Her two passions, writing and animals, merged in the ebook, In the Hearts of Beasts, which showcases the extraordinary courage and compassion of animals.
The journey to love is sometimes long, but its destination can be an unexpected miracle. Joy’s story, "I Love You, Carly", appeared on Chicken Soup for the Soul dog food bags in 2005. Today, Carly, along with two more rescued terriers and a chiweenie, share her home near the Texas Gulf Coast.
As a retired medical laboratory technologist, Joy continues to devote energy to a local pet shelter and to freelance writing.
You are invited to visit her at Mutt-Mania and Texas Back Porch.
